about Olena

I`m a photographer from Ukraine.

I didn't want to be a photographer until war came to my house (Donetsk). To me, photography has tremendous power. It helps to handle emotions. It helps to convey the emotions and feelings of others. It changes lives and our hearts. Photography is my life.

I started my way in documentary and reportage photography in 2015 after National Geographic Photo Camp in Kharkiv. I have worked with NGOs, charities and media.

Awards & Exhibitions

Exhibitions and awards have never been the purpose of my work. For me, helping people is what matters.

The photo was taken in an orphanage in the town of Ladyzhyn. All children have a disability due to severe cerebral palsy or Down syndrome. Volunteers play with them, arrange wheelchair races, etc.
